Colors in Spanish
Singing Colores en Español

Time to share some basic colors with our little ones. This is a wonderful song for learning colores en Español. It is short, basic and slow. Play and watch the video together.

Reinforcing the colors? Simple, take some construction paper of the particular colors you want your child to learn, and sing the song without the video while you show him the colors in the construction paper.

Including colors in daily life tasks is a wonderful tool. For example:
  • Grocery shopping: play colores en Español by pointing at the color while singing this: "por eso yo quiero todo lo que es verde, verde, verde, verde es mi color." You will be pointing at a green pepper. Use this verse to change the colors and simply end by saying the specific color.
  • Sing pieces of the song exactly like they are in the video while you show him the real objects on the street, the car, etc.
  • Play "spoting the color," a simple game in which you say a color and the first one who shows something that color gets a point. My son loved this one!
