Bilingual in Spanish

My good friend Clara in Dubai uses OPOL (one parent one language) method with her multi-lingual girls. French with daddy, Spanish with mommy and English and Arab at school. She takes off in the Summer and visits family in Colombia and Switzerland where they are all forced to speak the language of the country.

My "gringo" and I use Spanish immersion in my country of origin for at least 3 weeks per year to help our son become bilingual. But we are also aware this method is not always possible. Singing "Canciones en espaņol," using Spanish toys and setting a reading routine in Spanish became our best friends in the process when we could not travel.

We all find some methods, activities or tricks to make it work. So...

What is your tip, activity or experience to make bilingual learning a pleasure with no pressure?

Tell us what makes your children's Spanish learning experience a joy. It could be a favorite Spanish game, a routine you established, a cultural event, a travel experience, and so on... Share it!
